Planning a helicopter elopement is nothing like planning a traditional wedding. It’s intimate, intentional and truly highlights what you truly desire — just the two of you (and maybe a few loved ones), your photographer, your officiant, and unreal views in every direction. Once you’ve chosen your dream location and secured the helicopter, that’s when the fun really begins, dreaming up how you want the day to feel and what you want to experience together. When Cathrine and Lee pictured their elopement, they knew they wanted mountains and a glacier-fed lake as their backdrop. We partnered with Glacier Helicopters to bring their vision to life and create the dreamiest helicopter elopement experience.

FIRST LOOK

Before we hopped in the helicopter, Cathrine and Lee decided to have a private first look at one of their favourite spots in Revelstoke — Waterworld! (If you know, you know.) This hidden gem is actually a popular climbing area that overlooks the lake, and let me tell you, it’s absolutely stunning. The views, the light, the moment, it was the perfect way to start their day before heading into their helicopter adventure.

THEIR FIRST HELICOPTER RIDE

What made the day even more exciting was that it was Cathrine’s first helicopter ride! Soaring over the mountains, taking in the sweeping alpine views, and then landing beside the most stunning turquoise-green lake, it was truly a dream come to life. The excitement, the awe, and the sheer beauty of the moment made it unforgettable.

By the time the day wrapped up, Cathrine and Lee had experienced a wedding unlike any other, one filled with adventure, breathtaking scenery, and moments that were entirely their own. From the quiet first look at Waterworld to soaring above the mountains and saying their vows beside a turquoise glacier lake, every second was unforgettable.

BEGBIE BREWING SURPRISE

After the most incredible afternoon, we wrapped up the adventure at Begbie Brewing for a celebratory drink. It was there that Catherine and Lee shared some exciting news with their families — they’re expecting! Being able to document such a personal and joyful moment was the perfect way to close the day. I felt so grateful to be a part of their story and to witness such love, adventure, and new beginnings all in one unforgettable day.
