First look in Revelstoke

There are some wedding days that you just know you’re going to remember forever, and this Revelstoke elopement was definitely one of them.

We started the day with a first look in Revelstoke, which was such a sweet way to slow down and connect before the adventure ahead. Choosing to have a first look gives you a quiet moment to take it all in, just the two of you, seeing each other for the first time and really soaking in the start of your wedding day together.

From there, we excitedly made our way to the helicopter hangar, ready for the next part of this incredible day with Glacier Helicopters!

Helicopter Ride with Glacier Helicopters

We took off with Glacier Helicopters. Flying over Revelstoke and watching the landscape change below us was incredible. The mountains, the forests, the blue alpine lakes, it’s hard to even describe how beautiful it is from up there.

And then we landed at the most incredible spot. A bright blue lake surrounded by mountains, with a waterfall cascading nearby. It honestly didn’t look real, and we couldn’t believe places like this even existed.

We spent some time exploring the area and taking everything in before the ceremony. The best part was that we weren’t trying to rush through anything. We could just enjoy being there.

The lake was SO blue, the kind of blue that makes you question how it’s even real.

It was one of those locations where I could have photographed them all day. Between the water, the mountains, and the waterfall in the background, there was something beautiful in every direction.

But as beautiful as the scenery was, I think my favourite part was watching the two of them experience it together.

That’s one of my favourite things about elopements. You get to build the entire day around what you actually want to do.

Instead of spending the day worrying about a timeline or trying to fit in a hundred different things, you get to go somewhere amazing, explore, take photos, and relax!

Sunset Portraits in Revelstoke

After our helicopter adventure, we headed back toward Revelstoke for sunset portraits.

The light was beautiful, and it was such a nice way to slow the day down after such an epic afternoon.

We wandered around, took some final photos, and soaked up the last bit of light. The mountains around Revelstoke made the perfect backdrop, and the whole evening had that quiet, end of the day feeling.

Looking back, I think this is exactly what an adventure elopement should feel like.

A first look in Revelstoke. A helicopter ride into the mountains. A ridiculously blue lake. A waterfall. Sunset portraits. And, most importantly, a day that actually felt like them.
